President of Türkiye: Ankara Will Not Allow the World To Forget the Crimes of Israel Against Humanity

The Russian-language edition of the Turkish internet news site, Anadolu Ajansi, on February 10, 2024, published the above-entitled article, written by Ulviyya Amoyeva and Kaan Bozdoğan in a manner that confirmed the tenor of the Turkish President’s remarks. Erdoğan provocatively promised to continue to fight for an independent, sovereign state with territorial integrity with a return to the 1967 borders with Jerusalem as the capital. Unconscionably, he turned on its head the cowardly acts of the Palestinian attackers of October 7 and attributed them to Israel. His incessantly dishonest remarks, portraying Israel as the aggressor, were intended for the Youth Forum of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, thus intentionally adding fuel to the already out-of-control fire of hatred for Israel.

The Amoyeva-Bozdoğan article follows [translated by LOC]:

Recep Tayyip Erdoğan stated that “the actions of the Nazis” have nothing on Israel’s attacks on the Gaza Strip.

Türkiye is applying intense efforts so that the crimes against humanity, committed by Israel, do not remain without attention in the international arena.

The President of Türkiye spoke about this in his welcoming video message to the participants of the 5th General Assembly of Youth of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), being held in one of the hotels in the Shishli area of Istanbul.

Erdoğan greeted the Forum, which conducts a wide spectrum of activities for expanding the rights and potentialities of Muslim youth in the economic, cultural, and social spheres and for developing self-confidence.

The Turkish President noted that the combined efforts of youth had indeed acquired great significance during the mass murders, which Israel has been committing in the Gaza Strip and the occupied Palestinian territories since October 7 and against whom accusations of genocide have been advanced in the UN International Court.

“In the eyes of the whole world, the Israeli occupation forces have cruelly killed 28 thousand Palestinians, the majority of whom were children and women. More than 67 thousand Palestinians, guilty of nothing, have been wounded as a result of Israeli bombings, aimed directly against the civilian population,” the Turkish leader recounted.

Places of worship, schools, hospitals, and all facilities of civilian infrastructure became targets of Israel’s attacks, bringing to mind the attacks of the Nazis, the President of Türkiye reminded his listeners.

The head of state stressed that Ankara is continuing to do everything possible for rendering aid to the Palestinians, including humanitarian assistance and organizing treatment of cancer patients in Türkiye.

Diplomatic efforts are being applied so that Muslim countries can act together against Israeli cruelty in the Gaza Strip, Erdoğan continued.

“When the occupation policy and slaughter in Palestine ceases, we will continue to fight until an independent, sovereign state with territorial integrity, with the 1967 borders and capital in Jerusalem, is created,” the President also stressed.

Erdoğan expressed appreciation for the insight and the active position that the Youth Forum of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation always exhibited in the Palestinian problem.
