The Haber Global [World News] Turkish news internet site reported on February 25, 2024, that German Minister of Foreign Affairs, Annalena Baerbock, cut her trip to Ukraine in half because of security concerns. She was visiting the Black Sea port at Mykolaiv.
The spokesperson for the German Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that the Foreign Minister and her delegation were visiting the city of Mykolaiv’s drinking water purification facility being financed by Germany. The explanation given for cutting the trip short was that a Russian drone had been detected following the Foreign Minister and her delegation and that they had left the region in armored vehicles.
The spokesperson stated that the drone left the region after a period of monitoring.
The Haber Global bulletin noted that the German media had reported that when an air attack was carried out in Mykolaiv after Baerbock had left the region, she ended her trip to Ukraine and returned to Germany.
