Turkish internet news site Haber Global (HG) [World News] on February 17 filed the below article, reporting on recent demonstrations taking place across Israel that were demanding the resignation of the Netanyahu government and holding early elections. [Comment: The objective of my translations is to not only inform the reader of events seen from the perspective of other, select countries but to also retain the flavor and structure of reporting meant for the consumption of that country’s readership.]
The article follows [as translated from Turkish by LOC]:
The people of Israel went out into the streets for Netanyahu’s resignation and the conducting of early elections.
All over Israel, thousands of persons arranged protest demonstrations, demanding that the government of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu resign and early elections be held.
In the capital of Tel Aviv, a demonstration by thousands who gathered on Eliezer Kaplan Avenue in front of the Defense Ministry building displayed Israeli flags as well as banners, posters, and placards.
The demonstrators shouted slogans against the Netanyahu government, keeping rhythm with musical instruments.
The Israeli police placed iron barriers on the sidewalk to prevent the demonstrators from egressing onto the road. As the number of participants grew, the Israeli police had to remove the iron barriers. The demonstrators closed Eliezer Kaplan Avenue in the Tel Aviv center in front of the Defense Ministry.
Nilli Elezra, who participated in the demonstration, told an AA reporter [Apparently AA is the designator for the HG reporter in Tel Aviv] that the Netanyahu government needed to finally resign, that “it has done a very bad job.”
Elezra, indicating that the government could be changed anytime, noted that Netanyahu had continued the war in order to remain in power and “made [every move] to survive.”
Amos Shani noted that it was necessary for the Netanyahu government to resign as soon as possible and for the country to go to elections.
Shani stressed that an administration change was possible in the middle of the war, bringing to mind that in the past either in the world or in Israel governments had changed in the middle of war.
Shani said that Israel would continue to exist despite the disaster inside of Israel and despite the government.
The Israeli police closed the road with trucks to block the exit from the area where the demonstration group was located.
The Israeli police expressed in a statement that the demonstration in Tel Aviv had been against the law and had disrupted public order.
Besides Tel Aviv, demonstrations were organized by thousands of Israelis in West Jerusalem, Beersheba, Haifa, and Caesarea demanding the government’s resignation and early elections.
In West Jerusalem, hundreds demonstrating in a protest in front of President Isaac Herzog’s home, demanding that the government resign.
In Caesarea, in the north of Israel, approximately a thousand persons gathered in front of Netanyahu’s personal residence. As the Israeli police intervened, a brawl with the demonstrators ensued.
The protest movement that came out against the Netanyahu government’s controversial judicial reform gave pause to its demonstrations after the attacks organized on October 7 from Gaza. The protest movement against Netanyahu had stated that it would continue its demonstrations with the demand for the resignation of the coalition in power and for holding early elections.

Thousands of people from all over Israel spilled onto the streets for the resignation of Prime Benjamin Netanyahu’s government and conducting early elections. [Comment: The sign reads, “He is sabotaging Zionism and leading us into exile.”]
